BMW Gozo Weekend

I did the BMW Gozo regatta last weekend. Wind bad. No wind. Sunday we had a race from Gozo back down to Marsamxett and we had a light to moderate wind and I helmed nearly all the way which was really cool!

JOHN REPORTING! SORRY NO NEWS JUST BEEN ALOT OF HARD WORK FOR MANWEL AND ME DOWN AT THE WATER SPORTS CENTRE ALL SUMMER. WE HAVE DONE A LOAD OF WAKEBOARDING WHICH IS GREAT FUN, MANWEL DOING GOOD 360'S AND ME GETTING SOME GREAT HEIGHT. I ALSO STARTED TO MONO SKI WHICH IS FREAKY FAST AND EXCITING WITH GREAT WIPE OUTS - OUCH!

THIS AFTERNOON HOPE TO GO AND DO SOME TIME ON A THUNDERCAT WITH A FRIEND.

FISHING HAS ALSO BEEN BAD - SEEMS THEY ARE NOT BITING RIGHT NOW, THINK THEY ARE IN DEEPER WATER COS THE WATER TEMP. IS PRETTY WARM .

Thundercat Racing

HI ALL! HERE IN MALTA IT IS THE SUMMER SEASON NOW SO NOT MUCH WIND.

WE ARE BOTH WORKING AT THE WATER SPORTS CENTRE WHICH IS COOL FUN BUT ALSO QUITE LONG COS ITS FULL DAY IN THE HOT SUN..........BUT STILL COOL!

LAST SUNDAY WE HAD A GREAT TIME COS THERE WAS AN RYA THUNDERCAT RACE FOR UNDER 18 AND A FRIEND OF OURS ASKED US TO RACE. WE DID SOME PRACTICE BEFORE AND THEN WE HAD THE RACE ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON. THERE WERE ONLY 4 OF US IN OUR CLASS BUT WE CAME 2ND VERY CLOSE AFTER THE WINNER SO WE WERE VERY HAPPY AS IT WAS JUST OUR FIRST RACE.

I went down quickly the other day when I got back from school. It was a dying wind and it was a bit difficult to do anything much. So they are quite boring! Oh well better than nothing.

Yacht Racing

Hi Guys! We haven't been writing much in this blog this winter - mainly because we have had such a bad time with the wind. Basically not much or gale force! But I, John, have been down a couple of times in the past week. The last time was in Ghallis which was really great. Massive swell (for Malta anyway, but it was BIG) and I got some really good high jumps on the point. I used my Fanatic wave board and my favourite sail which is the Tushingham Rock 4.2m. I just LOVE that sail. Had some good wave rides too. If only we could get more of those conditions - I just love it in the waves.

I have been doing some yacht racing too and I am hoping that I will become a full member of the team on the J109 'Artie' belonging to Lee Satariano. I did one race on it a couple of weeks ago and we won and this last weekend we had a weekend of racing in Gozo. On Saturday we raced from the harbour to Gozo, on Sunday we raced round Comino and yesterday we raced back down to the harbour in Malta. It was great fun and the wind was pretty good too. You can see me in the shot above - I am at the front leaning out of the boat.

Stormy Thursday

This is a really short video and not very good but it shows all

the mush and strong current we had during the storm on Thursday.

I also managed a few vulcans and tried some geckos just for fun.

Try doing a gecko in a force 8-9! It's cool!
